An interview with Kman on ZNB?! Coming soon?! Stay tunnnnneeeed.
Awesome! I'm glad to see he hasn't "completely" disappeared.
You know what amazes me the most? His skins are almost what? 4 years old? And they all look like they were made just yesterday.
No they don't.
:erm:

I agree with Delirium, aleks what the hell.
Yes they do. Especially if you add the fact that they were created years ago.

They look bad, but they were amazing during their time...without them, we may not have the trendsetting attempts at design we do now.

Looking at those skins again brings back memories. I saw the Aura, Hybrix, BGS and Aqua series when they first came out. I'm glad to see them being converted. He actually did have the skins converted to vB and IPB 2.0 at one time, but the NBSDesignz website blew itself up.

Good times, good times...I actually vaguely remember that stuff.

A few touch ups here and there and they can be just as good as they used to be. For example they beat out this skin.

I wonder if this means he might come back and start making some new things or just convert what was already done. The latter sounds more realistic but it'd be nice to see him design more.
At the moment, only conversions are planned. Hauzer is carrying out most/all of the conversions. We're not planning to convert all of the ones already available for IPB 1.3x - just a selection that had higher download rates. I actually agree that many of the skins look outdated now. That being said, in the process of converting, there might be a few tweaks here and there (although nothing drastic). Once the initial conversions get out of the way (possibly sometime in 2010 Q2), new skins are a possibility. At the moment however, I'm just finishing up some unfinished business.

what i dont understand is how they were good 'in that time'

whats different in photoshop then it is now? rofl.

just lame ass skins like: Any skin Sarah created and some others are bringing this 'style' in.

SOme of kmans skins there are better then this skin currently on ZNB, but my mentality is i'd prefer this skin then kmans. it does not make sense at all

For one, there were several versions of Photoshop since 'that time'. Also, people have had more years to develop better, more efficient techniques with Photoshop.

It's like asking why the Web 2.0 look didn't catch on ten years ago. It just didn't. There's really no other answer to that, other than time.

Exactly. And my ten cents in that Kman can beat the ass out of most of the designers on this network today. It was like building on the design of the computer over the years. Back then computers were huge and bulky. Why couldn't they make them thin and amazing today? They didn't have the perception and technology like we do today. Rings a bell, dun it?

someone could have easily made something like today.

if you take a look, not all forums have changed their design, some kept like Kmans, nice and simple. custom skins that suck are usually found in the snowglobe

Just because you mention "snowglobe" does not make your post any more valid.

Do you not understand the concepts that the codings for skins such as these were not readily understood at the time? Not everyone was some tech squad kid like everyone was today, easily whipping out the photoshop easier than whipping out one's own manhood. Also the internet was still relatively new on the world stage, it had not expanded vastly to the reaches it has today. The workings and understandings we have now were simply not possible then. The perceptions of the designs have changed as well, just like how music is made today. Do you really think instruments have changed over the past 3849823749823423749283 years? For example people still use the bass for hip-hop but today's bullshit like Lil Wayne sure as hell don't sound like 2pac nor Sugarhill Gang.

I hope you are trolling.
