the zathyus news broadcast is dead. enter: restoration/rebranding project  conjure: atmosphere, intrigue, community "Don't call me [ZNB]. I've never seen one like that before..." The forum is getting slightly rebranded.... Rebranding is the process by which a product or service developed with one brand, company or product line affiliation is marketed or distributed with a different identity. This may involve radical changes to the brand's logo, brand name, image, marketing strategy, and advertising themes. These changes are typically aimed at the repositioning of the brand/company, usually in an attempt to distance itself from certain negative connotations of the previous branding, or to move the brand upmarket. ...it should not come as a surprise though. The forum is often connected with flaming, inactivity, and negativity. The rebranding will be the forums' welcoming party to forums outside of our clique. A leopard can't change its spots, but it can be whacked on the side of the head, have permanent amnesia and start anew. Back when I was talking change in January, it was really to help sort out the moderation problems, in which I think we have. The flaming is still bad, but not nearly as bad as it was before. Time to expand upon that, and officially get some momentum going. This time I want to focus on the community. But I'll save my goals for another time, I'm sure you guys want to hear a few of the changes I have in mind....well, you will have to wait for now; but they are some pretty radical ideas. I want to make the forum simpler, I want anyone to be able to come online and know exactly what is up. The key focus: a new demographic, the non-snowglobe user and forums.  conjure: content, information, passion Everyone has a story to tell. That is going to be the forums' new direction. It's no longer about what Cedric or Kuzco are doing, it's now become what the network has to offer, what people are doing - and how they are doing things for the better or worse. Drama boosts news, but it does not have to drive it. Don't be surprised if you start reading stories about people who haven't heard of, clear examples that best exemplify the direction are stories like this, and this. Ultimately, by spotlighting those communities - this forum will grow. Don't get me wrong though, I don't plan on isolating the core userbase of the forum. I am a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" kind of guy - but in this instance, the forum is broke - and I think this is the way to fix it. The forum that never opens type story will stick around, and the occasional interview with someone who has already been interviewed will always be around - but I think the balance will be better. Off the Network, is out the door. The section will be removed and there will be no more reports about forums outside of the Zathyus Network unless the Zathyus Network is somehow involved. Off the Network was cool when we had a quality amount of reporters, but now the section is too broad, and we need to focus in more on the key audience - the Zathyus Network. Right now, the forum has 31 forums viewable by the public. Under my new layout there are only 12. Simplicity will drive the overhaul. The gimmicks are over with. It's time to get back to basics. Under these changes, it will be a lot easier for the team and I to report and better moderate the forum. I've also been closely monitoring "Dakota's Monster" you can expect more things like that as well.  conjure: new users, posts, forums This project is much more than just reviving the forum from its dead state, but rather to expand this part of the network to other forums. Ultimately, this project will either epically fail - rejuvenate the snowglobe, or shatter this clique and "integrate" it with a few forums outside of our comfort zone. By bringing people outside of this clique, it will not only improve the currently dry, lack of user-diversity we have - but it will also bring in new forums, new ideas, and new ways of thinking. By bringing in new members, we have new forums - through new forums, this forum can have more reports and we will all have a larger community.  conjure: help, assistance A huge thank you to one person who has already agreed to help me on this project, you know who you are....and I'm excited to see what your final product is. I'm a little confused as to what's actually going to change here. So... The layouts getting condensed, and we're not reporting outside the network anymore, and a new layout? Am I missing anything here...? So if I comprehended that long ass message correctly we will be focusing more on Zathyus forums rather then off the network forums, and this is suppose to somehow increase the popularity of the board...? |

Nahhh. A lot of this revamp was getting a new theme ready in case Chase took the blue theme away from us.Aside from that, this revamp was to handle the moderation aspect of things and get me excited about ZNB. I think this change for ZNB is really planned out, and is more of a revamp of the COMMUNITY, than just the forum. =] |

Along the same words, but I'm not talking about the same thing. Chase theme was solely because we were tired of looking at the old themes. Dakota's theme was solely to clean up the forum and the mess. This is not a revamp, it's a rebrand. We want to focus on the community and help ZNB grow. |
